January 15, 2026 (1.0.37.24) ---------------------------- 1. Improved handling of cloud-synchronized file paths (e.g., OneDrive) to prevent file access and timestamp errors in BCNRM. 2. Modified icon December 30, 2025 (1.0.37.23) ----------------------------- 1. Modified how the BCNRM checks updated on nutritionmodels.com website. 2. Updated default files (assigned 100% to the efficiency of converting RDP to MCP). 3. Removed unnecessary DLL from the installation setup 4. Revised bcnrm_setup.exe March 30, 2025 (1.0.37.22) -------------------------- 1. Fixed the calculation of days to gain/lose 1 BCS. The report now correctly includes the division by km (the efficiency of using body reserves for maintenance) to convert net energy from reserves into metabolizable energy. 2. A new user setting has been added in response to user feedback regarding the target average daily gain (ADG) for lactating and dry cows. The model has always calculated and reported target ADG and its associated ME and MP requirements, but until now, these values were not included in the ME and MP balance calculations for non-growing animals. With this update, users can now choose to include the ME and MP required for the target ADG in the nutrient balance. Pros of including target ADG in the balance: a) Provides a more complete accounting of nutrient requirements when cows are expected to gain weight. b) Reduces ME and MP available for milk production if growth is prioritized, potentially leading to more conservative and biologically realistic estimates of ME- and MP-allowable milk. Cons: c) in practice, it’s uncertain how the animal partitions available ME and MP—whether toward growth, reserves, or milk production—so including it may not always reflect actual nutrient use. d) This feature offers flexibility for different modeling assumptions without impacting the core equations. Created a version of BCNRM2016 compatible with @Risk 8.x. This version is in the "\Program Files (x86)\National Academies\BCNRM2016" folder. September 5, 2020 (1.0.37.15) ----------------------------- 1. Fixed as-fed percentages in Table O1. November 13, 2018 (1.0.37.14) ----------------------------- 1. Improved compatibility with Office 365 and x64 version. 2. Fixed maximum tolerable values for Ca and P, and descriptions in Table R7. September 5, 2018 (1.0.37.13) ----------------------------- 1. Fixed MP allowable milk units. August 10, 2018 (1.0.37.12) --------------------------- 1. Improved prediction logic of mineral requirements for lactating and pregnant cows. March 25, 2018 (1.0.37.11) -------------------------- 1. Fixed inconsistencies with high DPI monitors 2. Allow users to change MP requirement (Table R1). Default is 3.8. October 19, 2017 (1.0.37.10) ---------------------------- 1. Fixed Chlorine requirement equation for lactating animals. There is no requirement. 2. Included lactation length for breed types 1, 2, 3, and 4 in cells L103 to L106 in the Calc spreadsheet. 3. Fixed the Copy option of some feed composition to the user feed library. February 17, 2017 (1.0.37.9) ---------------------------- 1. Fixed version of the 2016 BCNRM February 4, 2017 (1.0.37.8) --------------------------- 1. Improved the visual of the Optimizer January 15, 2017 (1.0.37.7) --------------------------- 1. Fixed the phosphorus and magnesium values of the standard feed library of the 2016 BCNRM. 2. Added Imperial units in Table 2.2. September 20, 2016 (1.0.37.6) ----------------------------- 1. (ELS) The intestinal digestibility (ID) of RUP is by default 80% for concentrate (feeds with less than 100% forage) or 60% for forages. The user may change these ID at cells BH91 and BH92, respectively, in the "Calc" spreadsheet (Ribbon: Calculation/Supply). If the user enters zero (0) for RUP ID, the BCNRM will use the individual RUP ID from the feed composition table (i.e., PBID) for the respective feed class (concentrate or forage). 2. Fixed negative target ADG for replacement heifers when current SBW was greater than the target SBW. In this case, when current SBW is greater than target SBW, BCNRM uses the predicted gravid uterus ADG as the target ADG for replacement heifers.
