Interests
Bees
My interest in bees stems from the intricate, organized society that these little insects maintain generation after generation. Apis mellifera is the honeybee that has been kept by humans since the ancient Egyptians. I am particularly interested in the stingless bees.
History
Bernard de Mandeville's The Fable of the Bees (1714):
A Spacious Hive well stockt with Bees,
That liv'd in Luxury and Ease;
And yet as fam'd for Laws and Arms,
As yielding large and early Swarms;
Was counted the great Nursery
